Series Summary:
Easter isn’t just a day on the calendar — it’s the defining moment of our faith.
The resurrection of Jesus didn’t just change what happened to Him… it changed what’s possible for us.
This four-week journey leads us from the shadow of the cross to the power of the empty tomb — showing how the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus still brings hope, healing, and new life today.
Theme Scripture:
Matthew 21:1–11, Isaiah 53:3–6, John 10:17–18
Week 1

Week 1 — “The King Who Chose the Cross”

Scripture: Matthew 21:1–11, Isaiah 53:3–6, John 10:17–18

Introduction

Jesus didn’t go to the cross because He was overpowered —
He went because He was in love.

Palm branches turned into wooden beams… but His purpose never changed.

Key Point Ideas

  • Jesus knew the cost before He ever rode into Jerusalem

  • Love, not nails, held Him on the cross

  • The cross was not a tragedy — it was a transaction

  • He traded His life for our freedom

Application

  • Receive the grace Jesus paid for

  • Stop trying to earn what was already given

  • Thank God for a love that goes all the way

Closing Thoughts

The cross wasn’t God giving up on you —
it was God giving Himself for you.

Week 2 — “It Is Finished”

Scripture: John 19:28–30, Colossians 2:13–15, Hebrews 9:12

Introduction

When Jesus said, “It is finished,”
He didn’t mean His life was over —
He meant your debt was paid.

Key Point Ideas

  • Sin no longer owns you

  • Shame has been defeated

  • The price for your freedom has already been paid

  • The cross closed the case against you

Application

  • Stop living like you still owe God

  • Release guilt and condemnation

  • Walk in the freedom Christ purchased

Closing Thoughts

What Jesus finished, you don’t have to fix.

Week 3 — “The Silence Before the Shout”

Scripture: Matthew 27:57–66, Psalm 30:5, Isaiah 53:9

Introduction

Saturday was quiet.
The disciples thought it was over.
But heaven was working in the silence.

Key Point Ideas

  • God is working even when you can’t see it

  • Delays are not denials

  • The grave is not the end — it’s the setup

  • Waiting seasons grow faith

Application

  • Trust God when things feel stuck

  • Hold onto hope in the in-between

  • Believe that God is still moving

Closing Thoughts

What looks like a delay may actually be divine preparation.

Week 4 — “He’s Alive” (Easter Sunday)

Scripture: Matthew 28:1–10, Romans 6:4, 1 Corinthians 15:20–22

Introduction

The stone was rolled away not so Jesus could get out —
but so we could look in and see that death lost.

Key Point Ideas

  • The resurrection proves Jesus is who He said He is

  • The tomb is empty so your life can be full

  • Death, sin, and hell have been defeated

  • New life is available to everyone

Application

  • Receive new life in Christ

  • Let go of your past

  • Start living in resurrection power

Closing Thoughts

Because He lives,
you don’t have to stay dead in what used to be.
The grave is empty — and so is your future without hope.
