The Diluted Gospel

About this series

The Diluted Gospel

The artwork lives almost entirely in black and white. A near-black surface sits under everything, scuffed and scratched, with pale smoke and haze bleeding in from the corners. The title is hand-lettered brush type, thick and rough, and the strokes thin out as they go, as if the paint ran short halfway through the word. Two teardrop shapes hang off the final letters, ready to fall. In a dark room it reads as serious before a word is spoken. Gritty, monochrome, no decoration to hide behind.

The visual is the sermon in miniature. A gospel watered down is still recognizable, just weaker. That gives you room to preach compromise and cultural distortion, then rediscovering the authentic gospel underneath. Matthew 7:13-14 and the narrow road anchor the whole arc: conviction over convenience, discipleship that costs something, boldness in the weeks around Easter when your room is fullest.

Across a service, the pieces hand off to each other. The 2:05 countdown holds the pre-service room in the same haze and texture so people settle into the tone early. The 0:52 bumper picks up the paint thinning across the surface and drops the teardrops right before you step up to preach. The title artwork carries that same lettering onto your screens, keeping your sermon series graphics consistent from the first minute to the last point.
