Series Summary:
Sheep know their shepherd’s voice.
They follow, they trust, and they find life in his care.
Voice of a Shepherd is a four-week series exploring how God speaks, guides, and protects His people. In a world full of noise, distractions, and false voices, this series will teach us how to recognize, respond to, and walk confidently in the voice of our Good Shepherd.
Theme Scripture:
John 10:27–28, Psalm 23:1, Isaiah 30:21
Week 1

Week 1 — “Recognizing His Voice”

Scripture: John 10:27–28, Psalm 23:1, Isaiah 30:21

Introduction

Sheep don’t follow strangers. They follow the one they know.
God speaks, but do we know His voice well enough to hear it?

Key Point Ideas

  • God speaks, but we must listen intentionally

  • Familiarity with God comes through relationship, not religion

  • The voice of God brings peace, not fear

  • Discernment is necessary to distinguish His voice from others

Application

  • Spend daily time in Scripture and prayer to tune in

  • Journal what God says to you in quiet moments

  • Ask God to give clarity and remove distractions

Closing Thoughts

Your Shepherd is speaking. The question is: are you listening?

Week 2 — “Following Where He Leads”

Scripture: Psalm 23:2–3, Proverbs 3:5–6, Isaiah 40:11

Introduction

Recognizing the voice is only the first step. Sheep must follow.
God’s guidance may lead us to green pastures or through still waters, but both paths are purposeful.

Key Point Ideas

  • Following God requires obedience, even when the path is unfamiliar

  • Trusting the Shepherd brings rest in uncertainty

  • Guidance is personal — He leads each one differently

  • Walking in step with God prevents wandering

Application

  • Take one step this week in the direction God has been nudging you

  • Stop trying to follow your own plan first

  • Lean on God when the path seems unclear

Closing Thoughts

The Shepherd always knows the way. Your job is to walk it.

Week 3 — “Protection in the Valley”

Scripture: Psalm 23:4, John 10:11, Isaiah 41:10

Introduction

Even the safest sheep must sometimes walk through dark valleys.
The Shepherd doesn’t leave them to face danger alone.

Key Point Ideas

  • God protects and guides even in hardship

  • Fear is not a sign of weakness; it’s an invitation to trust Him more

  • Shepherds prepare paths and provide safety in the midst of challenges

  • God’s rod and staff symbolize correction, guidance, and comfort

Application

  • Identify areas of fear and surrender them to God

  • Memorize promises of protection from Scripture

  • Allow God to lead you through difficult seasons

Closing Thoughts

The Shepherd walks with you in every valley. Fear has no final word.

Week 4 — “Living in the Shepherd’s Presence”

Scripture: Psalm 23:5–6, John 10:14–15, Revelation 7:17

Introduction

The ultimate goal is not just guidance — it’s abiding in His presence.
Life with the Shepherd is full, satisfying, and eternal.

Key Point Ideas

  • Abiding with God brings restoration, joy, and security

  • The Shepherd’s presence is a daily invitation, not just a future hope

  • God equips, nourishes, and celebrates His sheep

  • Living in His presence transforms relationships, choices, and perspective

Application

  • Commit to daily moments of intimacy with God

  • Recognize His blessings and guidance in everyday life

  • Share the Shepherd’s voice with others through encouragement and testimony

Closing Thoughts

To hear the Shepherd’s voice, follow His lead, and live in His presence is to know true life — abundant, secure, and eternal.
