Eoco Series Preview 1
Series Summary:
In a world filled with uncertainty, chaos, and fear of the unknown, how do we hold on to hope? In this sermon series, we explore the powerful vision of Revelation 21, where God promises to make all things new. Through the chaos of our present circumstances, we’ll discover how God is in control, leading us to a new creation and a future filled with hope, restoration, and peace. Each week will focus on how we can live with faith on the edge of chaos, confident in God’s promises.
Theme Scripture:
Revelation 21
Week 1

Week 1: “New Beginnings in a Broken World”

• Scripture: Revelation 21:1-4
• Introduction: Introduce the idea of standing on the “edge of chaos,” where the present world is filled with pain and brokenness, but God promises a new beginning.
• Key Points:
• A New Heaven and a New Earth: The old order of things is passing away, and God is preparing something new. How do we live in anticipation of this new creation?
• No More Tears, No More Pain: In the midst of personal and global suffering, Revelation 21 reminds us of God’s ultimate plan to end all sorrow.
• The Presence of God: God will dwell with His people. This is not just about a distant future; it’s about how we live with the awareness of God’s presence today.
• Application: Challenge the congregation to hold onto hope in the face of chaos, trusting that God is making all things new.
• Closing Prayer: A prayer for trust and hope in God’s promises, even in the midst of brokenness.

Week 2: “The Old Is Gone, The New Has Come”

• Scripture: Revelation 21:5-7
• Introduction: Focus on the transforming power of God’s renewal. When chaos seems to reign, God is at work making all things new, starting with us.
• Key Points:
• God’s Declaration: “I am making everything new!” What does it mean for God to make all things new, including our lives, our families, and our communities?
• Overcoming Chaos: To the one who overcomes, God gives the gift of life. How can we live as overcomers amidst personal and societal turmoil?
• A Promise of Inheritance: God promises that those who are His will inherit all things. Explore the richness of our inheritance in Christ and how it shapes our daily lives.
• Application: Encourage the congregation to embrace the new life God offers and to live as overcomers, even when the world seems chaotic.
• Closing Prayer: A prayer for strength to overcome and faith to embrace the new things God is doing.

Week 3: “A City of Peace in a World of Chaos”

• Scripture: Revelation 21:10-14, 22-27
• Introduction: Shift the focus to the imagery of the New Jerusalem, a city of peace and light that stands in stark contrast to the chaotic world we live in today.
• Key Points:
• The New Jerusalem: This heavenly city is a place of peace, where God’s glory shines brightly. What can we learn from this vision about how we should live in the present?
• The Absence of Darkness: No night, no chaos, no fear—how can we bring the light of God into the dark corners of our world today?
• Living as Citizens of Heaven: Though we live in a broken world, we are called to live as citizens of this future city. What does it mean to reflect the peace and holiness of the New Jerusalem now?
• Application: Challenge the congregation to live as ambassadors of God’s peace and light in a world filled with darkness.
• Closing Prayer: A prayer for God’s light to shine through us and for peace to reign in our hearts and communities.

Week 4: “Hope Beyond the Chaos”

• Scripture: Revelation 21:22-27
• Introduction: Close the series by focusing on the ultimate hope that Revelation 21 offers: a future where chaos is completely defeated, and God’s glory reigns forever.
• Key Points:
• The End of Chaos: God’s final victory over all chaos is secured. Revelation 21 gives us a vision of a world where disorder and suffering no longer exist.
• The Glory of God: In the New Jerusalem, God’s glory is the light that sustains everything. What does it mean to live with this hope today, knowing that God’s glory will ultimately overcome all?
• Living with Hope: Our hope isn’t just for the future—it empowers us to live differently today. How can we be agents of hope in a chaotic world?
• Application: Encourage the congregation to live with a confident hope in God’s final victory, allowing that hope to transform how they face the present chaos.
• Closing Prayer: A prayer of thanksgiving for the hope that we have in Christ and a request for boldness to live in light of that hope.
