Series Summary:
Stained glass windows tell stories through broken pieces held together by design. From a distance, you see beauty. Up close, you see fragments. That’s the gospel. That’s Easter.

Stained Glass Stories is a four-week Easter series that explores how God takes broken pieces—failure, suffering, betrayal, death—and arranges them into a masterpiece of redemption. The cross wasn’t the end of the story. The resurrection reframed every shattered moment.

Because in God’s hands, broken pieces become breathtaking testimony.
Theme Scripture:
Isaiah 53:3–6
Week 1

Week 1 — “Broken Pieces”

When the Story Shattered

Introduction

  • Every stained glass window begins with broken fragments

  • The cross looked like the shattering of hope

  • Friday felt like the end of everything

Key Point Ideas

  • The disciples’ expectations were shattered (Luke 24:21)

  • The cross exposes the reality of sin and suffering

  • God does not waste brokenness—He works through it

  • What feels like destruction may be divine construction

Scripture References

  • Isaiah 53:3–6

  • Luke 23:44–49

  • Psalm 34:18

Application

  • Identify the broken pieces in your own story

  • Stop hiding your fractures—God uses them

  • Trust that God is still arranging what feels ruined

Closing Thoughts

Up close, it looked shattered.

But heaven already saw the finished design.

Week 2 — “The Dark Panel”

When Heaven Went Silent

Introduction

  • Every stained glass scene has shadow to create contrast

  • Saturday was silent

  • God often works when we see nothing

Key Point Ideas

  • Silence does not mean absence

  • Waiting seasons deepen trust

  • God’s greatest victories sometimes happen unseen

  • The grave was not inactivity—it was strategy

Scripture References

  • Matthew 27:62–66

  • Psalm 130:5–6

  • Hebrews 11:1

Application

  • Where are you in a “Saturday” season?

  • Trust God in what you cannot trace

  • Refuse to interpret silence as defeat

Closing Thoughts

The darkest panel in the window makes the resurrection glow brighter.

Don’t quit in the silence—Sunday is forming.

Week 3 — “Light Through the Cracks”

When Resurrection Reframed Everything

Introduction

  • Stained glass only makes sense when light shines through it

  • The resurrection didn’t erase the wounds—it illuminated them

Key Point Ideas

  • The tomb was empty, but the scars remained (John 20:27)

  • Resurrection doesn’t deny pain—it redeems it

  • What tried to bury you becomes proof of victory

  • The light of Christ reframes every scar

Scripture References

  • Matthew 28:1–6

  • John 20:24–29

  • Romans 8:11

Application

  • Let God shine light through your wounds

  • Share your testimony—your cracks are conduits

  • Stop asking God to erase the past—ask Him to redeem it

Closing Thoughts

The cracks are not flaws.

They are where the light gets in—and where it shines out.

Week 4 — “The Window on Display”

Your Story in the Masterpiece

Introduction

  • Stained glass is meant to be seen

  • The resurrection didn’t just save you—it positioned you

Key Point Ideas

  • We are living testimonies (2 Corinthians 3:2–3)

  • The Church is a mosaic of redeemed stories

  • Your broken past becomes someone else’s hope

  • God displays His glory through restored lives

Scripture References

  • Acts 4:13

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17–20

  • Matthew 5:14–16

Application

  • Stop minimizing your story

  • Let God use your redemption publicly

  • Live as a window that reflects Christ

Closing Thoughts

From a distance, people see beauty.

Up close, they see grace holding it together.

And the light?

That’s Jesus.
