Scripture: 1 Kings 17:7–10
Elijah finds himself at the end of a dried-up brook—no more water, no more supply. But what looks like the end is really a setup for the next miracle. Sometimes, God allows old sources to dry up so He can redirect us into new seasons of provision.
When one source dries up, God already has another prepared – v. 7–9
Obedience doesn’t always feel logical—but it always leads to blessing – v. 9
God uses unlikely people and places to accomplish supernatural things – v. 10
What “brook” in your life has dried up? Ask God what new direction He may be leading you into and trust His voice over your comfort zone.
A dried-up place doesn’t mean God is done with you—it means He’s about to do something new through you.
Scripture: 1 Kings 17:11–12
When Elijah asks for bread, the widow responds with raw honesty: “I only have a handful of flour and a little oil.” That’s all she had left. But God isn’t asking for what you don’t have—He’s asking, will you trust Him with what you do?
God often begins miracles at the end of our strength – v. 12
Faith begins when we stop saying “I only have” and start saying “God can”
What looks small in your hand is more than enough in God’s hands
What are you calling “just a little”? Offer it to God in faith this week—your time, resources, or obedience—and watch Him multiply it.
God doesn’t need much to do a miracle. He just needs all of what you’re willing to give.
Scripture: 1 Kings 17:13–14
Elijah gives a word from the Lord: “Do not be afraid… make me a small cake from it first.” It doesn’t make sense to give away your last when you’re trying to survive—but miracles begin with sacrificial obedience.
Fear blocks obedience, but faith unlocks provision – v. 13
God doesn’t ask for leftovers—He asks for firsts – Proverbs 3:9
When you act in faith, you activate God’s promise – v. 14
What area of your life are you hesitant to obey God in because of fear? Trust Him with it this week—put Him first, even when it feels risky.
When you give God your first, He takes care of the rest.
Scripture: 1 Kings 17:15–16
The widow obeys, and something supernatural happens. Every time she reached for flour and oil—it was there. Day after day, miracle after miracle, God sustained her family through the drought. God is still the God of ongoing provision.
Obedience positions you for sustained provision – v. 15
God’s provision is not always in abundance, but it is always enough – Matthew 6:11
What God promises, He performs – v. 16
Are you living in fear of running out? Anchor your heart in the truth of God’s faithfulness. Expect His provision daily and trust His timing fully.
Your barrel may not overflow, but it will never run dry—not when God is your source.
