File Preparation

File Naming

File names should be relevant and simple. We recommend using the title of your product in all lower case with hyphens for spaces. Example: my-great-download.zip

File Organization

Download files should be neatly organized. Sub-folders should be used for each content type.

File Compression

Once you've got your download folder organized and ready, ZIP your folder using a compression tool.

Guidelines for Downloads

Here are some helpful guidelines to ensure customer confidence.

Don't include files that contain external links.
Downloads can not contain PDF or TXT files with externally hosted downloads to be delivered as a link.
File downloads must be under 5GB.
Downloads must have a .zip file extension. Uncompressed or unpacked files are not permitted.
Files should be correctly represented. Images used to promote your product should meet expectations.
Files must not contain any trademarked or copyright material.

Hosting Your Files

Your files must be hosted externally using a third-party platform such as Amazon S3, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. If you need help hosting your files, send your link to our support team and we'll assist you in setting them up for download.

We suggest using Amazon s3 for download hosting
Products must be publicly accessible. Our system masks your URL so your downloads are secure from fraudulent downloads.
Files available for download must be less than or equal to 5GB

Adding Downloads To Products

Once your download is hosted and accessible, you're ready to add the download link to your product.

Under "Downloadable Files" click "Add File"
Name your download. We recommend using "Download".
If your product includes multiple file downloads. Name those variations appropriately.
Paste the publically accessible URL to your downloadable product.

Download Limits - We recommend unrestricted access to downloads however we do require a minimum expiration date of 1 year and a minimum download limit of 5.
